Working in safety is more than just an option for Sodemat. Our actions in the realm of safety on the construction site aim to control the health and safety risks for our employees.
Safety at work everywhere and at all times
By motivating and guiding our employees, we aim for fewer work accidents every year. And with some success, as our work-accident numbers are well below the average in the construction sector. But there is always room for improvement.
Since our employees are at the very heart of Sodemat, we involve them in safety actions, taking account of their needs. As a training center accredited by Constructiv, Sodemat offers training for Eiffage personnel on the equipment used on the construction site. This includes machinery, scaffolding formwork panels, PPE, cutting machines, etc. This training is given at our two training centers or on the construction site.
Additionally, Sodemat regularly provides on-site advice, expertise and practical roadshows on specific topics such as portable electrical tools, concrete vibrations, collective protection, etc. We also organize annual training on well-being, teamwork and initiative taking.
The management is strongly involved in decisions regarding the safety and well-being of our employees. Moreover, they ensure that all actions are implemented in practice on a daily basis.
VCA, ISO 9001 and 14001 certification
All our employees are VCA certified, demonstrating that they are aware of the health and safety risks in the workplace. During training, they learn about safety rules, procedures, risk management and emergency measures. Knowledge is confirmed on the strength of an exam.
Therefore, our employees are aware of what working in safety entails. They recognize risks and act accordingly. In this way, everyone contributes to safety on the construction site, for themselves and their colleagues.
